REIKI
Offering traditional Reiki treatments to promote and support healing, pain relief, and relaxation, and classes in Reiki levels 1 & 2. Reiki is a hands-on spiritual/energy healing practice, which promotes healing and well-being at all levels, beneficial for acute and chronic pain. The form practiced here was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1920's, and passed on through Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata and Frans Stiene, among others. Teaching also includes spiritual practices and meditation methods.
I was first trained in Reiki by Mary Browne in 1999,with lineage traced back to Hawayo Takata. I have been privileged to serve as a teaching Master since 2004. I have also received training at Shinpiden level from Frans Stiene in 2017, and have incorporated many of the original Japanese practices. I have treated and taught many people in the Capital Area of New York, in the Cambridge area of Massachusetts, and has also taught classes in Reiki to medical students at the Medical College of New Jersey, and to Resident physicians at Ellis Hospital.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
I have been in training since 2018 with Margery Chessare in this gentle deeply effective non-manipulative hands-on healing practice. I currently offer free sessions to clients who have also received Reiki treatments from me. This system is resonant in many ways with Reiki, and useful in treating painful and chronic conditions, including head trauma.
Other Professional Activity
I practiced as a licensed Physician since 1979, and incorporated Reiki healing into an Integrative Medicine practice for a number of years. I am currently retired from active medical pracitice, other than volunteer activities. Although I do not offer medical services or treatment, I do draw upon my long experience in Medicine towards understanding and appreciating my clients' health, wellness and illness situations.
COVID
We resumed hands-on practice on 7/6/2020, after a pause of almost four months, due to the pandemic. We follow all of the rules and practices based on federal and state mandates and guidelines.We will update this as indicated and required.
