Description of Practice: Steven M Hall, MD

Steven M. Hall, MD began his medical career in 1985 as a residency trained and board certified Family Practitioner. His practice has been strongly influenced by his search for the answers to two questions: “What is ‘healing’?” and “How can I best help you with yours?”

His searching quickly took him beyond the borders of conventional medicine and he has explored many of the world’s leading healing traditions. He excels at taking seemingly disparate and conflicting ideas, finding common ground, and integrating them.

He has developed and currently practices a form of specialty care that successfully integrates the best from conventional and many forms of alternative medicine into one seamless medicine he calls Integral Medicine. He has personally seen what works and what doesn’t work for deep, authentic healing and, more importantly, has delved into why.

He takes the time to listen to your story and think deeply about what is going on with you. He prefers to treat as close to root causes as can be found and treat as naturally as possible as long as it is effective.

He excels at working with people for whom conventional medicine and most alternative medicines have not helped. Integral medicine looks at you as a whole human being: body/mind/energy/beliefs/inner wisdom/society/environment and works to find and keep the balance of your entire system.

Part of Integral medicine for Dr. Hall is practicing CranioSacral Therapy on an advanced level. He is expert at treating concussions, post-concussion syndrome, headaches of all types, neck pain, back pain, the effects of physical, psychological, and sexual abuse, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, digestive problems, allergies and other sensitivities, sleep problems, arthritis, auto-immune diseases, tapering off addictive medicines, and other chronic problems.

He has a special interest in helping you become impervious to stress so that whatever is going on in your life doesn’t make you sick. He treats so many conditions because he doesn’t specialize in any one organ system or disease; he specializes in a way of listening and problem solving that can be applied to nearly any problem you may be experiencing.

Many years ago, I started seeing Dr. Hall for migraines. Other MDs told me my list of symptoms was too long and not related. I was given pain medications to ease the pain, but no treatment in how to eliminate them. After a thorough exam which included questions I'd never been asked by any other doctor, Dr. Hall helped me eliminate my migraines by suggesting a diet that was free of allergens. That diet changed my life.
My pathology can be very complicated. I'd never had a doctor take my complete list of symptoms seriously and explain what might be happening. My favorite part of working with Steve is that I know he will take the time to listen to my concerns and make sense of them. There have been numerous times when I've come to him when I've already been told by other doctors that there was nothing wrong, only to have Steve ask me a few questions and then suggest one test that identifies an issue that doesn't seem to be on the radar of mainstream medicine. Steve is the best diagnostician I know.
To this day, I do what he suggests and it works. His explanations are complete, make sense, and leave me feeling my concerns have been heard, validated, and appropriately addressed. If anything, they are too thorough. I've never felt there was anything missing from my work with Steve.
Steve is compassionate, kind, and has a real calling to heal. He is knowledgeable on so many subjects, constantly researching, and sharing his findings in a way that is easily understood.
